(01) How it’s done
On the day
A ramped test on a bike with a breathing mask, supervised by our physiologist. The resistance rises every minute until you choose to stop, usually after ten to twelve minutes.
We measure the oxygen and carbon dioxide in every breath, so the result is a real measurement, not an estimate from a watch.
(02) Why it matters
What it tells us
VO2 max is the fitness number most strongly linked to how long and how well people live. Moving from the bottom quarter to the next one up is worth more than most medicines.
It is also very trainable. Sam builds your plan around it and we measure it again at your next Assessment.
(03) Same system
Body & strength
Measured on the same day, read by the same physician.
