(01) How it’s done
On the day
Measured from the 07:50 blood draw, after a fast from 22:00, alongside the full lipid panel.
The sample is spun in the house and sent to an accredited laboratory the same morning. Your result is in your report with your LDL, HDL, triglycerides and Lp(a), so the physician reads them together.
(02) Why it matters
What it tells us
Each particle that carries cholesterol into an artery wall carries one ApoB. Counting them predicts heart disease more sharply than LDL cholesterol alone, especially when LDL looks normal.
ApoB moves with diet, training, sleep and medication. It is one of the numbers we most often measure again at three months to see whether a change worked.
(03) Same system
Heart & vessels
Measured on the same day, read by the same physician.
